Dennis Vernon

     Dennis Vernon, A Chicago native received his B.F.A. in illustration from Northern Illinois University in 1982 and worked in Chicago as an illustrator and designer. He received his M.F.A. in design from the University of Oklahoma in 1987. For the last two decades he has taught on both the college and high school levels and presently is an Advanced Placement and National Board Certified instructor at Bluffton High school in Bluffton South Carolina.
     As an artist he has been awarded two Georgia Council for the arts grants and his work is included in several permanent, private and public collection throughout the Southeast. While being included on the "Artist In Residence Program", in South Carolina he also has conducted dozens of illustration and photography workshops.
     Baseball has been a constant theme for his work and continues his love of the game through his work. His work can be currently be found in the travelling "Palmetto Hands" exhibit sponsored by the Arts Council of North Charleston South Carolina and maintains a studio in Okatie, South Carolina.
