Hello My Name Is...

Deborah L Davis

Deborah L Davis

I really enjoy teaching students and helping them reach their everyday goals. Working with them every day is enjoyable because it’s one day closer to seeing them receive their high school diploma.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in Spanish and English. My Masters is in Bilingual Education. I have always been an educator: classroom teacher for middle and high school, AVID coordinator, Technology Coordinator and Professional Development School Site Coordinator in Maryland Public Schools.  I was the Instructional Assistant to the Supervisor of Foreign Languages in Prince George’s County MD and I taught methods courses at the University of Maryland.

I believe in staying current in the teaching field and I have won a few awards for my efforts:
Outstanding Educator, city of Bowie; Prince George’s County Outstanding Educator, Foreign Language Educator of the Year, NADSFL’s nominee for the Nelson Brooks Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Culture, Phi Delta Kappa Outstanding Mentor Teacher and Maryland Crystal Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching from the American Legion.

This year I love making a difference in the lives of students and enjoy time with my husband and friends. I visit my two sons, their wives and my little grandbabies as often as I can. Thank goodness for Facetime!
